The Regency Scallop is the most glamorous piece in the collection. A tall scalloped crest rises to 130 cm, deep-buttoned in emerald velvet with self-covered buttons on a diamond grid of about 18 cm, and the whole outline is close-nailed with brass dome nails set at roughly 1.5 cm centres so they read as a single line of gold. Scroll arms finish each end and tapered brass legs lift the seat off the floor, keeping it elegant rather than heavy.
It is designed for bars, supper clubs and dining rooms where the lighting is low and the seating must still be legible. Close-nailing is done by hand, nail by nail, and adds time to production; the quote reflects that.
The frame is hardwood and plywood with a sprung seat, and buttons are tied through to the frame so they hold in service. Because buttoning traps crumbs, the seat itself is a plain velvet cushion with a contrasting welt.
