Horseshoe & Signature Booths

Curved horseshoe booths, brass-railed channel booths, very high backs and screened booths: the seats that become the best table in the room.

Horseshoe & Signature Booths

Signature booths are the seats your reservations team gets asked for by name. They are usually fewer in number and placed where they can be seen: in a window bay, at the end of a sightline, in the corner of a raised dais.

Planning a horseshoe

A horseshoe booth needs a round or oval table centred precisely in its curve, and enough clearance at the open mouth for staff to serve without reaching. We draw the booth, table and aisle together and supply a centre point for the installer. Curved frames are made on a jig so that channels radiate evenly and the walnut cap follows the curve without visible joints.

Screened and high-back booths should be checked against sightlines from the entrance and the pass; the layout guide in our journal covers back heights and sightlines, and every project drawing we issue shows them in elevation.
