Layered maximalism works when it is disciplined, and this banquette is built on discipline. The back is divided into three horizontal bands: about 30 cm of forest-green velvet in vertical channels at the top, a 45 cm band of deep-buttoned terracotta leather in the middle, and 25 cm of oatmeal bouclé at the bottom. A 2 cm brushed-brass strip separates each band, and contrasting welts frame every edge.

The seat is split between green velvet and bouclé to carry the composition down to the table. In a hotel restaurant or a lived-in, collected interior it gives the warmth of a room assembled over decades, and encourages guests to linger.

Because four materials meet on one piece, the shop drawing for this design sets out every seam, strip and welt. The frame and plinth follow our standard build in walnut-stained hardwood. All three materials can be swapped to your palette.
