Biscuit tufting divides the back into a grid of square pads, sewn rather than buttoned. You get the depth and rhythm of a tufted back without button wells, which collect crumbs and grease and eventually pull out in heavy service. That makes the Caramel Biscuit a practical choice for grills, steakhouses and brasseries where the room is busy and the cleaning team works fast.
The grid is drawn to your run length and back height so the squares finish evenly at both ends. On the reference design the pads are set out in rows of square biscuits over a plain upholstered seat, finished with a self welt and a dark timber plinth. Leather is cut and matched panel by panel so grain and tone are consistent along the run; a commercial-grade corrected or semi-aniline leather is the usual choice for daily wipe-cleaning.
Construction is a hardwood and plywood frame, high-resilience foam with a fibre wrap for a soft top on each biscuit, and a separate seat cushion. The design also works in faux leather or a tightly woven fabric where budget or animal-free specification requires it.
